Since its foundation in 1921, Mitsubishi Electric has been growing by contributing to the realization of a vibrant and sustainable society through continuous technological innovation and ceaseless creativity.
We have also utilized various technologies as part of our commitment to creating an environment where everyone can enjoy sports. Additionally, initiatives have been implemented for a wider variety of people to be able to flourish in sports. We will continue to contribute to the creation of an inclusive society where all individuals respect and accept each other whether one has a disability or not.

Zone 2. Creation of an Inclusive Society -Current Initiatives-

Aiming for an Inclusive Society Where Everyone Proactively Takes Part and Flourishes.

Every one of us is part of creating an inclusive society. Not only does Mitsubishi Electric help achieve this by developing and providing accessible products and facilities, but it is also contributing to the creation of an inclusive society by involving all people, including support for athletes and the dissemination of para-sports.

01

Promotion of understanding and awareness towards the creation of an inclusive society through para-sports experiential events and exhibitions

Zone 3. Creation of an Inclusive Society -Towards the Future-

Aiming to Achieve True User-friendliness and Comfortable Living

Three Perspectives in Our Goal of Product Manufacturing for Everybody to Be Able to Use Easily

  • Environment
    Equipment such as elevators

Whether the environment, such as steps, may make it difficult for wheelchair users to move around, etc.

  • Mindset
    Compassion, understanding of diversity

What sort of considerations should be made to ensure ease of use by disabled individuals, etc.

  • Information
    Simplicity

Whether individuals with impaired hearing or vision can understand how to get to their destination without difficulty, etc.

What is a Society Like Where Everybody Can Display Their Personalities and Abilities and Flourish?

– Do You Know the Barrier-free Mindset? –

Our society is made up of a wide variety of individuals in terms age, gender, and physical abilities. However, having developed to cater for the majority, it can cause inconvenience or barriers for the minority at times.

Three Types of Barriers in Our Society

Environmental barriers

Physical barriers, such as steps and stairs

Information barriers

Obstacles in receiving information that should be able to be received

Awareness barriers

Barriers caused by the lack of understanding about diversity and knowledge about how to help

Of the three barriers, the environmental and information barriers have been gradually removed by products and services.
On the other hand, in order to see any progress in eradicating “awareness barriers,” “barrier-free mindset” is required to promote appropriate support and empathy for the disabled individuals.
