What is a Society Like Where Everybody Can Display Their Personalities and Abilities and Flourish?

– Do You Know the Barrier-free Mindset? –

Our society is made up of a wide variety of individuals in terms age, gender, and physical abilities. However, having developed to cater for the majority, it can cause inconvenience or barriers for the minority at times.

Three Types of Barriers in Our Society

Environmental barriers

Physical barriers, such as steps and stairs

Information barriers

Obstacles in receiving information that should be able to be received

Awareness barriers

Barriers caused by the lack of understanding about diversity and knowledge about how to help

Of the three barriers, the environmental and information barriers have been gradually removed by products and services.
On the other hand, in order to see any progress in eradicating “awareness barriers,” “barrier-free mindset” is required to promote appropriate support and empathy for the disabled individuals.
