Soon it will be commonplace that space travel isn’t just a thing of fiction

Super-powerful images and sound spreading across the area will send you off for a space journey
HOPE FOR UNIVERSE

This is an experience-based content that will give you a realistic feeling of a space journey as you watch the images of Kounotori*, Japan's first space station transport vehicle, projected on a giant screen. While traveling across the universe, with super-powerful images and true-to-life sounds spreading across the area, you can relive the moments from the launch of Kounotori 1 (HTV-1) to the passion shown by the developers who contributed to the successful mission to deliver various goods to the International Space Station (ISS), as well as moving stories behind it. The star lights across the floor react to the movements of the visitors, which gives floating sensations as if you were flying in outer space with Kounotori. Imagining how space technologies will continue to evolve in the future, your expectations will be increasing for tomorrow's world where space travel will be commonplace.

*Kounotori (HTV) is an unmanned spacecraft to transport various goods, including water and food for astronauts, as well as experimental equipment, to the ISS. Nine HTVs have successfully completed all missions to deliver supplies to the ISS since the launch of HTV-1 in 2009 until the successful completion of the final mission by HTV-9 in August, 2020.

Simulation experience of straight-line air flow that supported the evolution of air conditioners
Playing with the Wind Using a Line Flow Fan

This is an exhibition, which gives you a chance to learn behind-the-scenes facts about wall-mounted air conditioners that you casually use, and think about air conditioners in the future with fun at the same time.
Since the mass production of Japanese-made fans in the 1920s, Mitsubishi Electric has been introducing to the world a number of innovative "wind"-related products useful to our daily lives and society. For room air conditioners, floor-standing/window hanging air conditioners using scirocco fans were standard when Mitsubishi Electric launched the world's first* air conditioner to have a built-in a "Line Flow Fan" in August, 1967. This line flow fan was light weight and thin, featuring straight-line air flow. From that time, wall-mounted air conditioners became mainstream.
In this exhibition, you can actually have fun with air flow, using the "Line Flow Fan," which blows air inside the indoor unit of air conditioners. Enjoy a game, in which shapes like hearts, flower petals and wind fairies will appear on the screen, depending on strength of wind that you blow on the Line Flow Fan.

Experience behind-the-scenes technologies supporting smartphones!
Laser Processor Microscopic Art Gallery

You will have a chance to appreciate microscopic artwork created using microscopic holes, some smaller than 0.1 mm in diameter, made using a Mitsubishi Electric laser processor. This finger-tip size artwork on a 9mm x 9mm square can be looked at using a magnifier or an electronic microscope.
Mitsubishi Electric is developing ultra-precision high-speed laser processing machines that are necessary for the creation of a complex electron pathway in a limited space. This technology is essential for increasing smartphones' functionality, as well as reducing their weight. The machine accurately drills up to 7,000 holes per second. This contributes to enabling smartphones to have many functions while being so small. This exhibition offers behind-the-scenes insights into smartphones, an integral part of modern life.
