What products support the unknown side of electricity?

Generators create electricity as giant turbines spin
Turbine generators at power plants generate electricity. Each generator is equipped with a massive stator coil. Electricity is generated by turning the rotor inside the coil at high speed. It is then delivered to cities through transmission lines to support daily life and make things more convenient. Come to METoA Ginza and check out the full-scale turbine generator on display; a rare sight not normally seen. Chances are you’ll be amazed when looking inside this massive device.

Mitsubishi Electric: Circuit Breaker

Uniquely shaped high-voltage circuit breakers supporting stable power supply, even in bad weather
High-voltage circuit breakers are made to cutoff power immediately, such as when there is an anomalous current as a result of a lightning strike or other factors. They then help to quickly restore normal current. In addition to ensuring the safety of power-generation facilities, they also prevent power outages and play a key role in maintaining a stable power supply. Stop by and check out the unique shape of the full-scale model on display.

Giant screens only seen in stadiums and on streets from a distance. What do they look like, up close and personal?

Technologies that simultaneously control screen images made of a multitude of LEDs
When you get close to a large-scale screen you can see that the images are made up of small individual dots of LEDs shining in blue, green and red. Simultaneous control is the key to the performance of large-scale display systems. Mitsubishi Electric’s Diamond Vision has a unique program configuration that enables simultaneous control combined with the use of a special dedicated controller. As a result, it can produce high-definition, high-resolution images on giant screens. At METoA Ginza, images normally only seen from a distance can be viewed up close in a specially created space. We hope you enjoy this unique experience.


Special Exhibition — Diamond Vision of Hanshin Koshien Stadium

Mitsubishi Electric’s Diamond Vision has been providing audiences at Hanshin Koshien Stadium with exciting scenes since 1993. Renewal work is currently underway to have a new Diamond Vision system in place for the pre-season professional baseball games in March 2019.
On display here at METoA Ginza is part of the Diamond Vision system that has proudly shown many thrilling plays as they unfolded at Hanshin Koshien Stadium from 2011 through November 2018. Visitors can even touch the actual screen.

Smartphones, an integral part of modern life.
How can they be so convenient and multifunctional, yet so thin and compact?

Microscopic processing technologies enable the creation of a complex electron pathway in a small space
Using a technological term, “stacked substrates” are the brains of smartphones. Numerous intricate electron pathways are created by connecting many layers of wires in a tiny space. That’s where technologies make it possible to drill microscopic holes accurately prove to be indispensable. Mitsubishi Electric laser processing machines are capable of precise drilling at an amazing speed of up to 6,000 holes per second. This contributes to enabling smartphones to have many functions while being so small. At METoA Ginza, we’ve prepared a display for you to enjoy microscopic artwork created using microscopic holes, some smaller than 0.1 mm in diameter, made using a Mitsubishi Electric laser processor.
